SUMMARY:Sick leave follow-up - when is enough enough?
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the breakfast seminar where our employment law lawyers shed light on the topic of sickness absence follow-up. \nFresh figures from Statistics Norway show that sickness absence in Norwegian working life has risen to the highest level in 15 years in the second quarter of 2024. Sickness absence of 7.1 per cent amounted to 10.6 million lost working days. Around 1.7 million of these were due to self-reported sickness absence\, while around 9 million were due to doctor-reported sickness absence. \nWith these dramatic figures as a backdrop\, we invite our employment law lawyers to a breakfast meeting where we will highlight the topic: \n\nWhat is the employer’s duty to follow up on sick leave?\nWhat special protection does an employee have in the event of illness\n– and when can sickness absence in itself be grounds for dismissal?\n\nWelcome to a useful\, important and interesting breakfast seminar at Ræder Bing\, Tuesday 15 October. Sign up in the form on the left. Hope to see you!  \n\nPractical information:\nBreakfast is served from 08.30. The academic part starts precisely at 09.00 and lasts approx. 1 hour. The seminar is free\, but requires binding registration in the link below by 10 October. First come first served. Welcome! \nLocation: Ræder Bing\, 9th floor\, Dronning Eufemias gate 11\, Bjørvika

SUMMARY:Seizing the future - Reward for an evolving workforce
DESCRIPTION:The workforce evolution continues as we continue to see the rise of non-traditional working arrangements; from remote workers to gig workers and conducting business in new territories through Employers of Record. \nThere are naturally many questions about whether traditional reward models remain fit-for-purpose going forward\, and whether they can simply be applied to these new arrangements from tax\, legal and administration perspectives. More often than not\, new ground must be broken with reward structures either carefully updated or totally overhauled\, in order to provide a model fit for the future. We’ll share insights on working arrangements being seen in the global market and implications from a reward perspective. How future-proof is your reward model? \n• Shane McArdle\, CEO Kongsberg Digital\n• Kristine Dahl Steidel\, CEO Microsoft Norway\n• Benedict Macon-Cooney\, Chief Policy Strategist of The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and co-author of  A New National Purpose: AI Promises a World-Leading Future of Britain (institute.global) \n  \nRegister here
